I’ve only recently figured out how to use this blog, and so I’ll soon begin posting some entries. For all those who have been posting on this site… thank you! I’ll be responding soon…
For those wondering what I’m up to these days, quite simply, I’m writing! I have a collection of short stories I’m pulling together, along with two books of fiction. I’m splitting my time between the projects, waiting for one of them to grab hold of me and force me to the finish line. As for what they’re about, well… I guess you’ll just have to wait and see.
I’m also swamped with editing and ghostwriting due to the demands of my business (www.iowabookdoctors.com), and though the work is a lot of fun (authors have been sending me some really strong books to edit, which makes it all the more enjoyable), it does take time away from writing my own stuff.
Other than that, I recently moved back into my house (long story, filled with drama and chaos and heartache) and am trying to deal with termites, the dead mice my cats bring in, and a dog who has decided that wood floors are a better restroom than the grass outside.
I just finished In Hanuman’s hands,so you better get busy cause I want to read some more!
I loved many of your selected quotations, and also enjoyed the poetic nature of some of your writing, as well as the Gannesha creation myth. He is my Hanuman, and I am blessed to manifest a path filled with entertaining obstacles!
PEACE,KNOWLEDGE,EVOLUTION….
I too just finished your book and was very moved by it, as Hanuman is my chosen “Ishta Devata” as well. I wish you good luck in your future ventures and look forward to your next pubication.
I just finished reading In Hanuman’s Hands, beautifully written and also heart touching, realy enjoyed it. (I am also from Mangalore) makes me eager for your next work.
All the best.
i read your book non-stop over a weekend a while ago, couldn’t help but feel sloshed from some magical decanter right into the text between your lines. thoughts, some images, other ephemera have remained with me ever since.
i found _in hanuman’s hands_ at the local public library and knew it would be an important read for me. it was.
thank you, monsieur rao.
i’ve been to your ancestral homeland, your ancestral state, and i find it beautiful.
“In hanuman’s hand” made a great impression on me.
you write with clarity and intent–so one might say that your wanderings have had a purpose: to fill what was already a good mind with purpose. I’m partial to writers who can express themselves on several octaves at the same time, and while the subject material has been pretty well picked over by writers like Augustin Burroughs–who seems to unaware of any subject other than his troubled history–you were fortunate to have a great cover design. (Give credit where it is due, thats what made me pick up the book! ). Thanks for a very good read. Waiting for more! Hope its EPIC!
